6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Before I started to study media my idea about software and technologies that were used was very limited, I lacked an in depth understanding of the various pieces of equipment that was available to use. However, the first thing i had to official tackle was the blogs. I found myself full of worry and dread but once I had set up the account and posted my first blog; a huge weight was released from my shoulders. I found it such a breeze, being about to publish and experiment with how I wanted by blog to look, I could speak to people in a way that didn't require my speaking voice to be heard, but my ideas to come to life. It allowed me to portray a story and journey without having to put pen to paper, without having a long-winded novel, I can say exactly what I want in a straight forward process. But, one major area and aspect I enjoyed the most was being part of the media community, showing and experimenting to those who have a particular interest in media itself, but I can also target those who are also first timers to a blog, just showing how easy it is to voice your opinion. It's also a great way to stay in touch with the world of technologies as within media new and upcoming technology is used all of the time, internet is now the main source of information to actually be published so using a blog was exactly the right way to go. Its so more effective and efficient compared to a book that can't be updated easily, where as a blog can do that. Its helped to keep my work current to right now and with a few clicks a blog can be changed to make it current to that present time.
When I first begun I started off with the simple elements of transferring in images and writing text but slowly I progressed into adding in links to YouTube and eventually adding in the clips from YouTube onto the blog. However, my the end of the blog I was importing my own videos that I had created onto my YouTube channel and importing them onto my blog, which was such great achievement that with time and effort I had grow from a beginner to practically an expert. Along the way I have used various internet programs and sites within my blog which include: Dafont.com, Surveymonkey.com, scribd.com, Prezi.com and YouTube.com. Alongside this I have also used other computer software programs that include PowerPoint and IMovie, for which was the program used that created our final opening outcome and the behind the scenes videos that I created.
The two sites in which I have used the most was YouTube and IMovie. YouTube I found to be great source to explore allowing me to hear possible copyright free tracks to use, others AS media thriller openings and real-life thrillers, in order to gain ideas and what thrillers are actually on the market. YouTube was very straight forward as I am very familiar to the site as I often listen to the latest tracks on there. However, I decided to explore YouTube further in creating my own YouTube channel that is dedicated to showing my Media videos and clips. This way I can receive real-life feedback and publish my opening beyond my friendship group or class. It was also great for looking at other examples of work in order to produce something that was original and unique to simple ideas mainly involving stalker related themes. We wanted to create something which was more complex and required real thought to understand. YouTube was very easy to use with typing in the tool bar the description that I wanted and scrolling through selecting items that were relevant. However, it always took time trying to find just the right thing that fits well alongside the footage in the opening or we could use as inspiration in order to spark our own ideas.
In contrast, IMovie was the complete opposite I had never used this software before, so I had to learn how the use the program along the way, was slightly scary but exciting at the same time. IMovie is defiantly a great software as it allowed me to create our thriller opening alongside the behind the scenes videos that I created. It was a little hard to settle into but once I gained some experience it was very easy to use by clicking and dragging the footage or track into the desired area. For transitions, they could be added in between the footage to transition form one shot to the next, but we decided not to use many of them as they seemed outdated and didn't create the clear, sharp cuts that we wanted and is often found within thrillers. To conclude, With time I became confident with IMovie as it became the main source for creating our thriller and all our final choices were collaborated on this program to reach a final outcome.

5. How did you attract/address your audience?
Music Video-
Me, Myself and I-
The way in which that this video links
heavily to our music is the fact that for the second half of the sequence we
were actually inspired by the video itself rather than the music side. We used
the video to spark ideas about the fact that we wanted to show the character’s
variety of personalities and voices that she is experiencing from the
condition. Within the video it shows 3 people of one person, who is the rapper,
rapping his words within the video. We took a little inspiration from this to
create a range of personalities that are conflicting her mind with negative
thoughts, we trying to create two of the character having a argument with
herself by filming her back and forth but as two different personalities
although she is the same person. Therefore, giving her two personas, and the
effect of her emotions, the sins taking over. I feel that this idea is very
effective as it provides the idea of how her emotions are in control, however
this was the easiest way to capture the idea as we didn't have the technology to provide us , with
her twice and merge the characters into one scene. We did however create it to
look like a conversation, giving the same idea but with our creative twist and
perceiving the idea in our own interpretation, only using the video as a
guideline and idea for the footage that we actually captured. To conclude, we
used the video as inspiration with subtle differences to make ours a little
less like a music video and something that is much more film worthy.
Music-
The Way-
The
music I which I feel links heavily to our track in which we incorporated is
'The Way'. The track itself replicates some similar movements and motions
within the track itself. The track itself shows a gradually build in the sense
of the track being soft and increasing in pitch, becoming louder as the track
progresses on, which is very similar to way that our track within our thriller
works. The track increasing a steady and gradual pace, which builds enough
tension for them to remain watching the sequence and makes the outcome less
predictable. Areas of the track however do peek, displays sparks of heightened
areas which are at points were information is released allowing control over
what is revealed to the audience. The overall feel of the track is very soft
and elegant which would fit perfectly to psychological thriller as big music
would overpower the story line and ruin the whole effect. The peeks however
enhance the sound as they grip the audience enough for them to stay focused,
but so loud it ruins the feel and effect. The instruments in which were the
main sources was a piano and drums. The piano could be heard throughout but the
drums mainly within the lower base areas, adding tone to the sound and
increasing the drama within the music. The areas in which the beat becomes
deeper, it also becomes faster and louder, increasing the panic factor and also
increasing the tension. In parts of the music there is also a violin, which
represents the an eerie quality, that makes the track slightly strange and
sinister, which works well alongside the depth within the drums and the height
within the keys of the piano, working as a unit and in harmony to create a
great piece of music. At the later part of the track the a siren like noise
appears giving the effect of a police siren, creating an element of danger in
the track. Finally, the way that the track begins, the track also finishes the
same way, giving the track a feeling of repetition, but also an order like our
sequence has a specific order, linking the track to our thriller in that sense.
Overall, I feel that this track is very similar to our track we used.
Location-
Bathroom-
The
inspiration for the bath scene came from two main sources which are ‘psycho’
and ‘what lies beneath’. They are thriller films which base their killings
within a bathroom. However, ours is more self –inflicted but the idea of being
scared of the unknown is still gained, from both scenes to inspire the feelings
and emotions on the character. The idea
of using a bathroom was great as it implies a simple routine task but with a
sinister twist, which is much unexpected. A bathroom is also enclosed, showing
no escape routes and sense of entrapment for the character. A bathroom can also show innocence as there
isn't really anything that can kill, the only way is if someone intrudes on the
victim or the victim kills themselves. A
bathroom was great as it was convenient but the colours showed innocence and
purity, even though the effect is dark and sinister, hiding the true outcome.
In conclusion, the location was great and captured the idea of being isolated
and lonely perfectly.
Psycho
What lies beneath
Green screen-
This location really allowed us to play with the software and try to achieve an effect that makes it really look like that the only enemy that truly has is herself. The idea of linking the second half of the sequence around the 'Me, myself and I' video was to capture the emotions and the way her personalities are different to each other, as if they are different people when in fact it is only herself which is the true enemy. the idea of the green screen shows no location really, but more isolation and being hidden from society. The idea also of placing the illusion images to also imply the idea of deception with the images showing two different things, depending on the way that the audience interpret the image, meaning one thing to one but another to somebody different. This way we get across the hat we are trying to achieve the idea of emotions but sometimes there is also two personalities to one person if you dig beyond the surface. the idea of having in front of the green screen also creates questions to the audience as the location is virtually unidentifiable. Also, being on the single wall, suggests trapped and closed off from the rest of society, clearing linking heavily to the first location of being isolated but also what thrillers mainly do of using isolation as a way to show being trapped by whoever is targeting them. Overall, The green screen made a great place to solely focus the character and maintain the idea of entrapment.
Me, myself and I
Titles-
The
hunger games of opening titles I feel is
very different to the titles that we have used, with special effects and its
own logo to assist the film, is nothing like ours. The opening title show a
clear link between the story line with it being set in a Forrest and the story
line being about hunting and killing each other. However, ours is much
simplistic with a simple font style that doesn't take over the whole sequence,
but instead sits nicely along the bottom of the screen and doesn't dominant the
scene, making it enough to be noticeable, but not enough to spoil the footage,
and interfere with the story line. In contrast, the 'Alien' opening sequence I
feel fits with the idea that we were trying to portray, the font style is
simple and easy to read, with the colour matching the colour choice that we
made. Although, the fact that the text takes centre stage of the screen is very
different to way we presented tour titles. Overall, I feel our titles link more
to 'Alien' than they do to 'The hunger games'. Therefore, showing a more
traditional approach to displaying titles rather than a modern, CGI
effect.
Costume and props-
The
protagonist within our thriller had two main costumes which were both very
similar in colour and style. The first costume consisted of black jeans, a
black top with lace detail and a black checked, fleece shirt. The idea of
surrounding the character with black, contrast against the white of the
bathroom. However, also reflects the way her mind thinks as when buying clothes
the decision is often made with the way that you perceive colour and though
your eyes, therefore showing she perceives the world in a dark way and uses her
clothing to suggest this. The colour black would suggest to the audience that
the character sees the world around her in a negative way, and sadness that she
carries around with her. But, they may also think that she is trying to fit in
and follow the crowd, as many teenagers now were black quite often, as it’s a
colour which suits all, for any occasion. The colour black is also a shade,
instead of colour showing she is trying to be a shadow of herself, hiding and
blending into the background, which those with mental health issues tend to do
to drawn attention away from them and gradually fade out of society altogether.
However, the black keeps the character as one unit rather than having colours
which clash as this wouldn't be something that people would wear and would not
create a real-life realistic ideal of a teenager. The clashing colours would
also bring attention to the character but we want her to look normal, but also
a shadow of her real self. Clashing colours however may have worked to give the
character a strangeness and sense of something not being quite right. Overall,
i feel that the audience would relate the type of clothing the character is wearing,
giving the attentions normality but a essence of the unknown, making the
audience unaware, but building tension and putting them on edge, makes the
basis of a great thriller.
Before
After
The way
in which I have created the masks was through using acrylic paint, by allowing
the paint to run in areas that I wanted to create drip motions. The masks are
each unique to their own, showing the difference between each emotion. All of
the masks I created myself, but I found that the yellow didn't show up the way
that I wanted it to show, therefore I used a Biro to add an etching effect to
the text. Making it much more visible of what it says. The lust and Anger masks
represent the idea of bloodshed and the lust as if a gun has been shot, leaving
splatters of blood, increasing the level of danger and uncertainty for the
character. Overall, each mask is different to represent their own, individual
mark within the thriller opening.
The red
bubble bath was used to bring colour into the scene in order to attract the audience’s
attention and keep their eyes on the significance of the colour. The red
symbolizes the idea of blood and danger, implying a sense of blood shed going
to happening, misleading the audience away from the direction we are taking
them in, tricking and deceiving them, giving them part here and there for them
to make their own prediction and conclusion about the scene, this way when the
truth is revealed they gain a scene of surprise. What will make a great
thriller is revealing elements where we want them and not giving everything
away all at the beginning in order to take them on a journey and reveal the
truth at the end, this way it creates drama, keeps the audience gripped to the
edge of their seat and makes them want more. The colour can suggest a number of
things including love or lust, death or blood and even anger. Showing a hint,
but not a full answer that determines the use of the red bubble bath. To
conclude, the bubble bath being red puts more of a sinister idea of the fact
that this is a thriller onto the audience, which builds tension and suspense.
Key characters- audience identity with
Theses
characters both represent the character in which we have exploring in our
thriller opening. They linking heavily to our character that is schizophrenic
like the characters both displayed at hand. From there expressions within the
pictures, it is clear to see they have taken the role to a new level,
portraying the condition an illness, there expressions represent the expression
of our character too, showing that the illness doesn’t just mental effects, but
can take a physical toil on your body also. However, their clothes that they
were wearing are very bland, with mainly
grey, using this as inspiration we dressed our character in black and greys to
replicate the idea and feeling of being empty and lacking happiness, related to
big and bright colours. Grey and blacks also create a sense of blending in,
trying to hide from the feelings and thoughts, rather than confronting them. Their
hair also falls naturally across their face, suggesting that they are using the
hair to also cover and disguise their face. The fact that her hair is naturally
also implies the lack of care to appearance, and just purely giving up as the
emotions are taking over and are being the main control. To conclude, the greys
clothing and both characters having dark hair shows the darkness taking control
over their body and trying to blend in to take away attention from them; as if
the emotions are draining the person of their personality and their whole
persona.

3. What kind of media institutions might distribute your media product and why?
I feel that the companies in which would distribute our work would be Coffee films and White lantern, as they are very mainstream but also independent companies which often lack big special effects and target real, gritty drama. Which is what we have done. However, within out idents we also placed Hammer to be part of the distributing process, but I now feel that Hammer is outdated and would specify for more stereotypical story lines including, stalking or ghosts. Our's very much subverts this with being original in using the sins as emotions, which she is struggling to identify as reality or subconscious feelings. Hammer I feel relates more to monsters and supernatural beings, plus it being one of the big 5, would make the film internationally known rather than a TV Film or British film in which I feel that our thriller is.Coffee film and white lantern also make sense in location as they are relatively close and working in the UK. Therefore, I being specific to the UK, whereas Hammer is universally recognized. The independent companies also tend to use upcoming actors and actresses, in which is what we have achieved. In contrast, programs in the British television that would be best to dispatch the film would be, Film4 as they often supply gritty films that perhaps would be in cinemas, but only British cinemas rather than being screened in international cinemas. Film4, would also address our target audience as the program is for all ages, but teenagers tend to watch the channel more as they screen films that are more specific to that age bracket, including Kidadulthood and Tinker,Tailor, Sailor Spy just to name a few.

Thriller Opening-Final Cut
This is the final cut of our psychological thriller, which is based on a girl who suffers from schizophrenia but is struggling to come to terms with the idea. The opening takes a look at the inside emotions that she is struggling to keep under control, but instead they are beginning to take over her life, but what was the trigger?

Behind the scenes- Video (Bathroom scene)
This video is a inside to the bathroom location, looking at the location itself, including the footage before editing and equipment that was used within the filming. The footage that is in this clip has not all been used in the final outcome but showing the footage shows different angles and elements that we have used. Overall, this clip was made to display a glimpse of what went on behind the scenes.

Behind the scenes- video (Green screen)
This is a behind the scenes video that I have created to show a glimpse of what went on whilst we were filming, including equipment, the location itself and also uploading the footage onto the mac. Overall, this has been created to give the audience a glimpse of what actually went on and what happened in the duration of the filming process.
Wednesday 16 March 2016
Behind the scenes- Editing
Through the editing process we changed a variety of elements and areas, but the large part and proportion of the film that was changed was the levels of light within the scene. We dimmed the light levels in order to create a more atmospheric look, making the sequence darker and richer adding depth, alongside the shadow, applying more of a sinister look. Therefore, incorporating suspense and thriller like qualities e.g. being dark and having less artificial light. By changing the levels of light this changes the time of day in which we filmed. We originally filmed during the day, just before the sun set as this was the arranged time that we could all meet at. However, the light being very bright makes the bath scene look very random and shows no relation to the dark and gloomy feel we were trying to achieve. Adjusting the levels to include more shadow implies the idea more than before. Alternatively, It also makes her enclosed in a small space, as the lighting is much more compact, in the sense of just focusing on a few spots of intense lights and the rest being a little darker. Creating shadows on parts within the bathroom, such as the curves in the bath and the shadows under the taps. Alongside, casting a shadow on the character and trying to place her emotions on the line, making her look vulnerable to herself and the fear from objects around her. Also, the fear of the unknown. The overall effect on the audience should be now to see, that her emotions are the enemy rather than there actually being another person involved, displaying a psychological thriller. The way that we have portrayed her is to expose the symptoms and effects without proper treatment and medication consumed by those suffering from schizophrenia. In conclusion, we have tried to use film and media to portray the importance of this condition and that it can effect anyone, no matter what age, although, it is more likely to occur in adolescence/ early adulthood.

Behind the scenes- Bathroom analyse
The issues that we faced were defiantly the hand-held filming as some of the shots are a little unsteady and this detracts from what we are trying to achieve. However, to overcome this factor we begun to use software that will add steadiness to the shot, incorporating the professional quality that is needed. Further, The space within the bathroom-made it hard to complete some shots, so re-adjusting some shots was key to capture the same feel but through a different light. This however, led to some of the shots being changed in the storyboard, but it is barely noticeable to see. We still tried to remain very close and similar to the original shot but at a different angle in some cases. Overall, we faced some minor issues but we successfully solved them and overcame them by adjusting some areas. Therefore, maintaining the high quality that we wanted to achieve.
Finally, the changes that were made to the storyboard were very little but we had to change two major aspects of the storyboard, due to the space within the area which we were filming, for which was the panning shot of the bath from above. The reason we had to change was because the space itself was too compact to actually get the shot in the right angle. However, we compromised with using another shot instead to replace this feature. On the contrary, The other shot that was extremely difficult was the shot of zooming into the mirror and reflecting the character in the bath. This had to be changed due to every time that the shot was filmed, the cameraman was also caught in the shot, we don't want this as it makes the shot seem unprofessional alongside the cameraman having a significance to the opening, when actually they have no significance to the film at all. Overall, these changes were very straight forward and actually with the compromises that we used it is virtually impossible to tell that anything has been changed at all, in fact I feel that it may work better than the previous shots actually did.

Behind the scenes- Possible sounds/Soundtrack
To assist our movie opening, it is important that the right songs and tracks are achieved, is key and essential to achieve the maximum potential from the opening. The movements within the thriller must match and synchronize effectively in order to add and build tension at a gradual pace. However, some sounds can work even if they don't necessarily create the perfect mix on paper it is all a matter of trial and error. With the contents that we have planned for the scene, we have a phage idea of what sounds would be effective and fit, not just in specific places but also would work throughout the whole scene as a unit. We planned to have a consist track through with other sound emerging at the right time and place, depending on what is in the scene. For example, her gasping for breath when she emerges from the water will have a gasping noise to sync with the action within the scene. Creating a sense of real-life and a believable story-line.Although, the music that will be added to the idents will be different to the music in the rest of the scene. Separating the two elements but overlapping another piece of music to maintain good continuity. This overlapping will then progress into the main structure and base music of the whole scene.
The main source for where we retrieved our music was on: www.youtube.com.
We used this sight for all of the music that is within the scene, apart from the water splashing and heavy breathing, as we created the water sound ourselves in a sink and splashing the water and the heavy breathing the character created herself (excluding the gasp sound).
Soundtracks-The sound tracks in which I have looked at are soundtracks that maybe be used rather than will be used as I did some research before we began, to examine what tracks are actually on the market. However, also looking at tracks that would fit effectively within a thriller by hearing the way the track works and hearing for perks in the track that create a strangeness, to put the audience on edge in certain aspect of the opening sequence.
Ash- by the secession- (from 50 seconds)
This sound track is a tension building track with a gradual build up within the track. This would also create a great backing track as it isn't too over-powering, of the story line and it also is at a steady pace that it isn't too fast or too slow, but instead just the right pace. I also like that this track doesn't give lots away and instead would help towards keeping the opening very secretive for the audience, to work out for themselves.Overall, this track would be good for a backing track but I feel that the second choice would be preferred as I feel that it would create more of a sinister vibe rather than this one does even though it is still quite effective.
Creepy doll music- beginning section –to -1.14
This track would be great for the idents at the beginning of the sequence, as it is very eerie and creepy but it doesn't really give much away and would glade softly into the background track. It also adds a childlike feel and the idea of innocence within the film without footage of the film even beginning. However, it later translates the innocence in the character and the way her emotions are playing her, making her scared and in need for reassurance like a child would want from a parent. However, the track shows a slight happiness, tricking the audience a little in what they are about to watch. The track reminds me of a child's toy that repeats the same tune repeatedly. It's also great for the unexpected as a sharp, sudden sound effect would quickly change the mood of the opening sequence, making this track very versatile.
Scary Horror Music - Haunted (Copyright and Royalty Free)
This track would be great for the basic, underline track of the whole sequence. This is due to the fact that this track includes a variety of sounds throughout, with perks heightening the effect of the thriller and placing the audience on edge due to the unknown, within the heightened areas. Therefore, applying mixed emotions onto the audience throughout the whole sequence. This track would also be great as other sound effects could be applied over the top of the track and still sound effective as a background track. Creating continuity throughout the whole scene. However, it would also reflect the characters emotions, showing her vulnerability openly to the audience, so as the opening progresses the audience understand the character and complexity to her thoughts. the perks in the track, are quite high in frequency adding a eeriness to the track.
Sound effects-
Child whispers sound effects-
This sound effect would work behind the elements in which she is talking in an voice over as it would add a mysterious feel and slightly creepy approach in sense that it would create the idea of children following her, but instead its the voices with inside her head. By adding, whispering and sounds that are childlike links back to the idea of her vulnerability, and the way that she perceives the world compared to the rest of society. Overall, the sounds of the whispering and child giggling creates a slightly odd and relevance to be child like, alongside making the main character feel like she is being laughed at by others. Therefore, showing how her emotions react within her head rather than reality.
TV no signal beep sound effect-
The sound at the beginning of this would create a great transition sound, layering the sound over the background track and moving from one sound to the next if other sounds are included in our thriller as we begin to build this thriller. This would be fantastic from the transition from the idents into the main body of the thriller as it is short and sharp, making a strong track for a more sensitive and complex story line. Therefore, the track needs to fit right and not overpower the sequence as it can detract from the story and even over-power the story. This beginning beep sound is great and would defiantly work well in creating a cross over transition.

Behind the scenes- Fonts
Within thrillers a variety of font types, shapes and sizes can be included. However, a chosen font can determine the genre of thriller but also individualize the thriller from others available. An awful font can ruin the movies onset, so getting the font style right is key in order to accomplish the desired effect of the thriller. The style of font can enhance the film hugely by making it easily recognizable before the thriller has even begun. For example, the genre of romance fonts are often small, italic and soft at the edges to adding a feminine approach, appealing to a more feminine audience. Fonts often follow the stereotypes to appeal to selected and targeted audiences, instantly labeling the conventions.A font can define the genre instantly. For instance, in 2015, 'Furious 7' was released having a large and sharp edged font, from the font it is instantly recognizable that the film is an action-thriller, but with some curved edges to parts of the font creates a feminine quality, appealing to all genders, especially on the S's as well as, the O's and R's taking a dominant let.
Below I have looked at a range of fonts incorporated in thrillers, in order to use as inspiration when we chose our own thriller. This will also give us a general idea of what fonts are mainly targeted in thrillers, appealing to stereotypes and convention but what also fits comfortably within the film.
Most of the lettering that I have looked into are very bold and define in shape, however,'what lies beneath' is very soft and feminine which may have been used to link the font to the idea of the main role being a female character. In contrast, when researching I found fonts that were bold, having male dominant characters rather than female characters and vise-visa with soft and italic fonts. The fonts that I have looked are express more action-thrillers which are powering and bold, often having guns, violence and fast cars in them. Although, those films which surround psychological themes replicate curved fonts with medium sized text. In relation, to the colours of the fonts, most fonts show a chrome vibe of black and white, either way round. For example, 'The woman in black' font colours are black and white to replicate the depth of death and darkness in the black, but the white for the slight hope he has to be reunited with his wife, who died in labour. The black creates the whole atmosphere and what the film is about which is ghost haunting the village.
In contrast, the font in which I would like to use the style of is 'what lies beneath' as we have used this film as inspiration of our bath scene, its a very simplistic look that makes the film seem innocent, but the hand within the picture, giving the film a slight suspicion of what the story-line is. The font is subtle and simple, but effective in creating the lack of plot or giving to much away. With the help of Dafont.com I came up with a selection of fonts that I feel could work as the title of our movie, each displaying strengths and weaknesses although each font being unique in its own right.
Fonts
1. DK face your fears-
This font in my view replicates paint-like brush stroke marks, with a range of dark and light patching depending on how much paint was on the brush when paining each part. The lines create a roughness which I like, but I feel that the style is very cliche to horrors that were created in the 70's like Frankenstein , which the text reminds me of. However, I want a more modern and fresh vibe rather than a dated look. I feel that the D's dominate the text and the I, fading out more.I would use this in more of a spoof feeling thriller rather than a modern and fresh vibe in which we are looking to achieve.
2. Coldnightforalligators-
This font shows a splattered effect with the splashes showing blood-like motions, although, I like the idea around this font, i fell that it is more of a horror that is intense with blood and gore surrounding the story-line. The lettering itself is short and compact but has been spaced evenly. The heavy patches of black indicate bullet marks. I think that this font is a little over the top of what we want to produce and doesn't fit with what we are trying to create. Overall, this font is very dramatic and complex , where as we need something that is simple and easy as our story-line is complex; therefore using this would make our thriller too much rather than being minimal. By having a complex story line and simple font they would balance evenly against each other.
3. Hacked-
This font shows exactly what it shows within the name, hacked. The font displays a glitch feel, relating to computers and hacking, rather than emotions in a thriller for which is what we want to achieve. I do like this font in the way each letter is sharp at the points that the lines meet but also the glitch happens towards the bottom half of the lettering, therefore, implying that in the end half of the film, the twist and turning point happens. A great way to show a subtle touch with a big twist towards the end that the audience may not notice but it's a subtle indication to those who do.This font shows a modern and computerized feel, which would be great for films like Hackers or Tron. To conclude, this font is too computerized to transfer the ideas that we are trying to show in our thriller.
4. Corona 4 typewriter-
This font would be great for what we want to achieve as it is simple and easy to read, but I would prefer the text to be longer, having each letter all of the same size, creating unity within all of the letters. I like the fact that the text creates the lettering of a typewriter. This would be great for 50's and 60's based dramas. This text would not overpower the story-line but I feel still wouldn't be enough to remember the font or name of the film. The spaces between each letter shows the font very clear. However, with the lettering having no spaces would enclose the main character and make her feel claustrophobic, showing and indicating the emotions of feeling trapped and making her feel alone, for which is what we want to create. Overall, this style font is similar to what I would use but is not exact.
